In late January 2010, New England Border Collie Rescue took in 4 border collies from a family that could no longer care for them. Two of the dogs, Ivy and Peat, had accidentally bred, and Ivy whelped February 17th. This is the blog for the pups.

Puppy Report at 8.5 weeks!

Hi there, my name is Cedar, and since I'm the eldest of the Ivy-Peat Garden, I'm going to give you this week's update!

We spent a lot of time running around this weekend, both inside and outside! It wasn't super great weather for being outside but we made the best of it. I spent a lot of time just frolicking in the grass with my brothers.

Berry, who's ears have joined league and are reaching for the sky in a tipped fashion, did some independence training...ooor he just needed a break from all of the rest of us.

Speaking of ears, Larkspur was the first to have his ears stand up all the way!

Blossom, aka Sassy-Pants, spent some time communing with the leaves and dirt...

Moss and Hawthorne found the best puddle to play in, and everyone got their toes wet.

And Dahlia spent much of the time being very serious and contemplating the universe.

We also got to meet a TON of new friends this weekend, canine and human alike!! Of course everyone LOVED US!! Or at least mostly tolerated us.

We found more mud...

Learned how to camouflage ourselves in the shrubs...

Took quick little naps together in the grass...

Went off exploring...

Slurped up some very tasty treats!

Romped some more in the puddle...

We all love to wrassle with each other as well...

And just spent a lot of time looking very very adorable...

And getting snuggles from anyone around, especially our foster mommy!

And after all that I and all my brothers and sisters slept really well!

We love our raw diet...we got whole mackerel for the first time this weekend and gobbled up every bit...except two fish heads we decided unanimously to leave for our furmom, Ivy. We are doing very well with our crate training and will soon learn to love resting there. We got our first flea and tick medication, and we'll soon get our first heartworm treatment as well. After we all get microchipped, we'll all be ready to go off to our new forever homes!!

Love and puppies kisses,
Cedar
